Local Beauty – Waiwera & A Private Beach

Often we can become so fixated on travelling to exotic overseas countries, we can forget how truly amazing exploring our own backyard is. Don’t get me wrong, I have seen some incredible things overseas and I cannot wait to see more, but I have always been inspired to explore and truly appreciate the place I call home. With this in mind, I thought I would do a ‘local beauty’ post every so often of beautiful places I have found close to my home (Orewa). Here are some places I have been lately!
Waiwera Beach
Something I love about this beach is how tropical it looks on a sunny day! There is an estuary at the north end and the water is SO clear with trees behind it. Both times I have been here there is also hardly anyone around which is nice!
Private Bay
This hidden gem is between Waiwera and Hatfields Beach (I have no idea what the actual name is). You have to pull over on the side of the road and there is a track that is SO steep (it has ropes) down to a private little beach. There is also a tree hut up in the trees you can climb to (at your own risk haha) that is really cool. But let me tell you, it was not easy getting up there. Lets just say the stairs/ladder looks like it has been there for 27612873 years.
My brother took this from the tree hut!
If anyone knows any local places I should explore, let me know! I can’t wait to do more posts like this! xo
