Five ways I look after my skin

I think it goes without saying, that skin is of high importance to most people. Whether it’s trying to prevent acne, dry skin or wrinkles it can be a struggle to figure out what actually works.

There are so many things that contribute to having good, clear, glowing skin! Over the last year or so I have really focused on finding out what makes my skin happy!

Drinking warm lemon water on an empty stomach

I have spoken about this before but I am a big advocate for starting your day with a big glass of warm lemon water. Not only does it rehydrate you but it flushes out any toxins in your body, hence helping to keep your skin clear!

Staying hydrated

It’s no secret that water is your skins best friend! It not only keeps your skin glowing but also helps prevent breakouts. Essentially, it is important to have the right balance of water to oil on the surface of the skin. No water = more oil = more breakouts!

Eating less sugar

I don’t think it’s any coincidence that after a bad food week, the following week I will get a few pimples. I have cut refined sugar out of my diet in the past and I felt like my skin was literally glowing! I got back on the no sugar bandwagon at the start of this week, I will update you on how I go to another blog post!

Using Natural Oils

Now this one was a game changer for me. When I lived at home, I always saw my mum’s Rosehip Oil in the bathroom. I decided to try it out of curiosity and within in a week, I noticed a HUGE difference in my skin. I had a more even complexion, less dry patches and my skin was so much smoother. I have mainly used Rosehip Oil and Chia Seed oil but I have also heard avocado oil is amazing too.

Sticking to the same products

We are now surrounded by so many incredible products it can be easy to chop and change between a whole heap of products. I have personally found that when I have stuck to a consistent routine, using the same products my skin has been the best.

I have shared the products I use before and they are still the same as I love them! One thing I have changed is using   Micellar Water instead of make-up remover wipes. I found that some makeup wipes would really dry out my skin andMicellar Water is so much gentler.

Everyone’s skin is so different, what works for me may not work for you! I do love hearing what everyone does to look after their skin, so let me know! x
